Job summary

Presbyterian Rust Medical Center in Rio Rancho, NM is seeking a compassionate Oncology Nurse to administer chemotherapy and provide direct patient care to an assigned cohort of patients during 12‑hour night shifts. The role emphasizes collaboration with physicians, nurses, and the multidisciplinary team to optimize cancer treatment plans and patient outcomes.

The ideal candidate holds an active state RN license (NM or compact), an Associate Degree in Nursing, and a BLS certification.

Qualifications

• State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License.
• Associate Degree in Nursing.
• 1 year bedside experience preferred.
• BLS certification REQUIRED at time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and other oncology treatments.
• Monitor and assess patients' conditions, managing symptoms and side effects.
• Educate patients and families about treatment plans, side effects, and self-care.
• Collaborate with oncologists, radiologists, and other healthcare professionals to develop patient care plans.
• Provide emotional support and counseling to patients and families.
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
