Job summary

Dana-Farber Cancer Institute is seeking an Oncology Registered Nurse to provide comprehensive nursing care to oncology/hematology patients in Boston and surrounding communities. The role covers assessment, planning, implementation, education and coordination of complex care, including chemotherapy administration and infusion therapies.

Strong teamwork, communication and adherence to clinical research principles are essential.

Qualifications

• Must be a licensed Registered Nurse in MA or NH
• BSN strongly preferred; ADN grads must complete BSN within 4 years
• Oncology/hematology nursing experience preferred
• Current BLS certification required (ACLS acceptable)
• Experience administering chemotherapy and infusions recommended

Responsibilities

• Delivers expert, evidence-based nursing care to patients and families; administers medications and therapies including chemotherapy
• Collaborates with multidisciplinary team to plan and coordinate care
• Educates patients and families about treatment options, side effects, and self-care
• Documents care and coordinates referrals to home care or hospice as appropriate
• Maintains safety standards and adheres to regulatory and institutional policies
