Job summary

Cardinal Health’s La Jolla site seeks aRegistered Nurse to deliver safe, compassionate care focused on assessment, education, prevention, and restoration of health. The role emphasizes teamwork with the interdisciplinary staff and ongoing professional development.

The RN will document care, maintain confidentiality, support families, and participate in infection control and medication safety practices while adapting to Oncology nursing certifications after onboarding.

Qualifications

• Graduated from an accredited school of nursing with a diploma, Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
• Passed the NCLEX_RN.
• Licensed by the state.
• Willing to float amongst all San Diego offices, if necessary.

Responsibilities

• Identifies patient care requirements by establishing rapport with patients and others.
• Provides emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, families and friends.
• Teaches patients and families about condition, medications and self-care skills.
• Adheres to standards of care and regulatory guidelines; suggests necessary adjustments.
• Resolves patient needs via multidisciplinary team strategies.
• Maintains a safe, clean environment and adheres to policies; requests assistance as needed.
• Follows infection control, medication safety, storage rules and regulations.
• Documents patient care in records; ensures continuity of care among nursing teams.
• Keeps information confidential and protects operations.
• Maintains equipment and inventories; assists with maintenance and repairs as needed.
• Maintains professional knowledge through education and networking.
• Promotes teamwork and problem-solving within health care teams.
• Open to Oncology Nursing certification after onboarding and training.
