Job summary

Jefferson Health seeks a Registered Nurse in Medical Oncology for a day shift, full-time 40 hours per week at Center City, Philadelphia. You will apply the nursing process, develop individualized care plans with families, and work within a diverse patient population.

Strong communication and teamwork are essential to deliver safe, compassionate care. You will collaborate with physicians and staff, provide patient education, and participate in quality improvement activities to enhance outcomes

Qualifications

• Specialized Diploma or equivalent nursing degree is required.
• Cultural awareness and ability to partner with patients and families.
• Effective communication with patients, families, and staff.
• Knowledge of patient assessment and care planning.
• Experience with discharge planning and post-discharge needs.
• Proficiency in health information documentation and charting.
• Basic life support certification (BLS) and RN licensure in PA.

Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care using the nursing process for diverse patients.
• Collaborate with inter-professional teams to ensure quality care.
• Educate patients and families on conditions, treatments, and medications.
• Follow protocols to minimize risk and ensure patient safety.
• Assist with discharge planning and care coordination.
• Participate in safety and quality improvement committees.
