Job summary

University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center is hiring an Oncology Registered Nurse for Bone Marrow Transplant and Transplant Cellular Therapy Cancer Clinic in Dallas, TX. The role involves supporting oncology patients and families, using nursing process to educate and coordinate referrals, and delivering evidence-based care across the oncology continuum.

The position requires an approved nursing program and a Texas RN license with BLS, 1 year nursing experience, and a BSN is preferred.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of an approved/accredited nursing program with Texas BON or equivalent.
• Experience: 1 year nursing experience.
• Licenses and Certifications: Texas RN license and BLS certification (AHA/ARC).
• Preferred: BSN degree.

Responsibilities

• Assess and document patient health status on admission using age-appropriate considerations.
• Communicate health status data to the care team and develop plans of care.
• Implement nursing interventions and document them accurately and timely.
• Coordinate patient care with the health care team and family.
• Provide patient education and document it promptly.
• Supervise and coordinate nursing staff and delegate duties within legal parameters.
