Job summary

The Allegheny General Hospital 9A Oncology unit in Pittsburgh is seeking a registered nurse to join a 32-bed telemetry team focused on chemotherapy, palliative and general oncology care. You will provide assessment, planning and education to patients, collaborate with the multidisciplinary team, and support care from admission to discharge.

Requires PA RN licensure (or eNLC), CPR certification, and at least one year of general nursing experience; union environment and rotating weekends are in

Qualifications

• Current State of PA RN licensure OR Current multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
• Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
• Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
• Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
• CPR – American Heart Association
• One (1) year general nursing experience required
• One (1) year on specific unit preferred

Responsibilities

• Responsible and accountable for a designated patient population for the purpose of providing care based upon enactment of the nursing process.
• Essential care delivery skills including assessment, planning, and multidisciplinary collaboration.
• Direct and manage activities of the patient care delivery by the team members.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team for the plan of care from admission through discharge.
• Educate patients and families based on age, culture, and learning needs.
