Oncology RN Job Details

• Location: Columbus, Ohio (ZIP: 43210) – Premier destination for Ohio nursing jobs with excellent amenities and urban lifestyle.
• Unit: Acute Leukemia & Hematology (15 East)
• Employment Type: Locum Tenens (Travel RN Contract)
• Duration: 16 weeks (October 6, 2025 – January 26, 2026)
• Shifts: 3x12-hour shifts per week (Day: 7:00am–7:30pm / Night: 7:00pm–7:30am; Rotating or Nights)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2160 - $2210
• Patient Population: Adults & Geriatrics, primarily newly diagnosed acute leukemia patients
• Staffing Ratios: Goal 1:4, may be 1:5
• Orientation: Comprehensive onboarding and preceptor support for travel nurses
  
  

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent clinical nursing experience (Oncology RN experience preferred)
• Previous travel nurse or locum tenens RN experience required
• Active Registered Nurse license (Compact RN license or Ohio state RN license required)
• Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, ONS Chemotherapy Certification (required); NIHSS (preferred)
• Proficient with EPIC electronic health record system
• Ability to float to other MedSurg Oncology units as needed
• Two professional references (one from a nurse manager, director, or formal leader)
  
  

Oncology RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality patient care to adults and geriatric patients with acute leukemia and hematologic disorders
• Administer chemotherapy and blood products, monitor for adverse reactions
• Implement infection prevention and patient safety protocols
• Perform central and peripheral line care, PICC line management, and IV therapy
• Interpret telemetry and dysrhythmias, respond to rapid response team activations
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including physical therapy, pharmacy, and social services
• Utilize advanced clinical equipment (GE telemetry, Alaris pumps, Stryker beds, bladder scanner)
• Participate in self-scheduling and meet unit needs for weekends and holidays
