Virginia Cancer Specialists in Fairfax, VA is seeking a Full Time Advanced Practice Provider to join our Research Department. The role emphasizes expert patient care, education, care management, and research activity.

The position involves collaboration with physicians, supervision of nursing staff where applicable, and adherence to OSHA and compliance standards within an oncology/hematology clinic.

Qualifications

• MSN from an accredited nursing school and successful completion of a Nurse Practitioner program.
• 0-3 years post MSN experience preferred in the chosen specialty.
• RN licensure and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state.
• Current state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner and BLS/CPR certification.
• NCCPA certification for Physician Assistant (PA) and license if practicing in state.
• MSN with Clinical Nurse Specialist track and current CNS licensure; BLS/CPR certification.

Responsabilités

• Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates care for individual patients.
• Initiates and documents interventions; prescribes therapies per protocol/physician guidance.
• Assists physicians, conducts patient assessments and provides information prior to visits.
• Provides patient education and coordinates care with the care team.
• Promotes wellness and connects patients with community resources.
• Mentors nursing staff and supports clinical trials education.
