Job summary

Amergis Healthcare Staffing is seeking an Oncology Registered Nurse (RN) for travel assignments in Truckee, CA. The role focuses on evaluating, planning, implementing and documenting nursing care for oncology patients in hospitals and outpatient centers.

Candidates should hold an active RN license, with oncology experience preferred and OCN certification preferred; CPR and health certifications may be required. This travel position offers competitive weekly pay and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• One (1) year of oncology nursing experience preferred.

• TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable.

• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, plan, implement and document nursing care for oncology patients.
• Assist with surgery prep and coordination of cancer treatments in hospital settings.
• In outpatient centers, assist with chemotherapy and infusions while monitoring vitals, side effects and pain.
• Provide patient education and support throughout treatment process.

Location: Truckee, CA

The Oncology Registered Nurse evaluates, plans, implementsand documents nursing care for the oncology patient population under thedirection of the physician. The Oncology Registered Nurse works in hospitalsand outpatient care centers where patients receive cancer treatments. In hospital settings, the Oncology RegisteredNurse assists with surgery prep, patient education and coordination of theircancer treatments. In outpatient carecenter settings, the Oncology Registered Nurse typically helps with treatmentssuch as chemotherapy and infusions while monitoring patients’ vitals, sideeffects, and pain.

Minimum Requirements:

• Current RN license in state practicing

• One (1) year of experience in oncology nursing preferred

• OCN certification preferred

• Complies with all relevant professional standards ofpractice

• Current CPR if applicable

• TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable

• Current Health certificate (per contract or stateregulation)

• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age
