Job summary

Connecthcs in Northern Virginia is seeking a Registered Nurse specialized in Oncology for an outpatient cancer center near Tysons Corner and DC. Oncology experience is REQUIRED, and the role focuses on compassionate, expert care during treatment.

The position offers daytime outpatient shifts with no on-call or weekend duties. You will assess and monitor therapy, perform venipuncture, access ports, educate patients and families, and stay current with oncology practices.

Qualifications

• Be able to do the job as described.
• Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience, some of it in Oncology.
• Infusion experience with experience in cancer medication is highly preferred.
• Oncology certification or willing to obtain.
• Current RN license with the State Board of Nursing in Virginia.
• CPR certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor patients’ therapy under the supervision of a physician.
• Perform venipuncture, access implanted ports, and maintain central venous access devices.
• Provide education and support to patients and families, addressing their physical, psychological, and spiritual needs.
• Access to ongoing professional education and development to keep your oncology nursing skills sharp.
