Job Summary

The Radiation Oncologist will be responsible for diagnosing and developing personalized treatment plans for patients undergoing radiation therapy. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with a team of medical professionals, including medical physicists, dosimetrists, radiation therapists, and oncology nurses, to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Evaluate patients with cancer and formulate treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs.
  2. Administer and oversee radiation therapy treatments.
  3. Collaborate with other oncology specialists and multidisciplinary teams to create comprehensive care plans.
  4. Participate in tumor boards and case discussions.
  5. Ensure adherence to safety protocols and quality assurance standards in radiation treatment.
  6. Educate patients and their families on treatment processes and expected outcomes.
  7. Engage in clinical research or continuous improvement projects, as applicable.
Qualifications
  • Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
  • Board certification (or eligibility) in Radiation Oncology.
  • Valid medical license to practice in Louisiana.
  • Strong clinical expertise in radiation therapy planning and delivery.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Dedication to patient-centered care and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Preferred Experience
  • Proficiency with advanced radiation therapy techniques (e.g., IMRT, SBRT, SRS, IGRT).
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
  • Participation in research, publications, or teaching activities.
