You will support care for patients undergoing oncology diagnostic procedures and surgical treatment, assisting in pre-assessment and nurse-led discharge within a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Oncology nursing knowledge or willingness to develop within oncology nursing
• Strong team-working skills and proactive attitude
• Ability to plan, document, deliver and evaluate evidence-based nursing care in collaboration with shift coordinators

Responsibilities

• Complete first level assessment of patient needs and understand cancer-related needs for patients and families
• Assist with teaching patients in preparation for investigations, treatment and home care
• Be aware of treatment side effects and respond with a problem-solving approach to minimise adverse effects
