Job summary

The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an enthusiastic Band 6 Staff Nurse to join the Medical Day Unit (MDU) in Chelsea. The role involves coordinating shifts, reviewing patients prior to SACT and delivering high-quality nursing care in a fast-paced cancer care environment.

You will work as part of the multidisciplinary team, ensuring patient education on SACT and trial therapies and upholding clinical governance and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Registered nurse with intravenous medication administration experience.
• Venepuncture, cannulation and SACT administration skills are desirable but not essential as training will be provided.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and sound clinical assessment and management to coordinate a shift.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate a shift and clinically review patients prior to their SACT.
• Lead the assessment and management of complex needs of patients with cancer receiving SACT.
• Educate patients on SACT, including clinical trials, administered on the unit.
• Work with the multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality, evidence-based nursing care.
