Job summary

The Cancer Center of South Florida is seeking an Oral Oncology Pharmacy Technician to manage oncology medication inventory, navigate insurance pre-authorizations, and support patient financial assistance through our medically integrated dispensary.

You will collaborate with clinicians, patients, and payers to ensure timely access to treatment, accurate documentation, and compliant dispensing within accredited MID processes.

Qualifications

• Education and experience aligned to pharmacy technician roles in oncology.
• Experience with insurance verification and prior authorizations preferred.
• Familiarity with regulatory and accreditation standards in MID environments.

Responsibilities

• Review oncology treatments and payer guidelines to ensure proper documentation.
• Obtain and document insurance pre-authorizations for patients in the EMR.
• Coordinate treatment documentation to support billing and authorizations.
• Communicate with patients and insurers about financial assistance and copay details.
• Assess benefits and patient responsibility, advising on buy & bill or white bagging.
• Schedule financial counseling and enroll patients in aid programs as needed.
• Track compassionate use and replacement drug shipments from manufacturers.
• Obtain signatures on financial forms and assist with dispensing and inventory.
• Support prescription refill processes and collaborate with providers as needed.
• Assist with MID compliance, including documentation for accreditation standards.
