The Advanced Pharmacy Tech will prepare and dispense chemotherapy and sterile products, ensuring safety, accuracy, and compliance with USP 797, while supporting infusion therapy operations and cross-training staff.

Qualifications

• High School or Equivalent required.
• 1-3 years hospital or compounding pharmacy experience with chemo prep.
• LPT - Licensed Pharmacy Tech and NJ Board of Pharmacy registration required upon hire.
• PTCB or NHA certification required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for all aspects of preparation and dispensing of chemotherapy and non-chemotherapy sterile preparations according to policy.
• Display knowledge of drug nomenclature, dosage forms, strengths, and concentrations.
• Maintain compliance with sterile procedures (USP 797) and aseptic technique.
• Handle medications safely with proper storage and error prevention; report concerns.
• Lead sterile preparation team, oversee hood maintenance and workflow.
• Assist with billing data capture and training of staff on IT applications.
• Attend Infusion Therapy Team meetings.
