Job summary

Alabama Oncology is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support the preparation, compounding, dispensing, and distribution of sterile and nonsterile hazardous medications in an ambulatory oncology setting at the Grandview Plaza location.

The ideal candidate will ensure safe preparation and dispensing, adhere to PPE and CSTDs standards, maintain documentation, and participate in inventory management and reporting to optimize medication use and compliance.

Qualifications

• Registered Pharmacy Technician with Alabama State Board of Pharmacy.
• Knowledge of aseptic technique per USP <797> and USP <800>.
• Experience with hazardous medications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and dispense hazardous and nonhazardous medications safely.
• Adhere to PPE requirements and regulatory standards for hazardous drug handling.
• Utilize CSTDs and participate in evaluation and training processes.
• Complete mandatory training and maintain competency with periodic testing.
• Assist with inventory control, purchasing, and vendor coordination.
• Support investigational drug management and drug shortage planning.
• Generate reports from clinical and automation systems to improve operations.
