Job summary

Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit's Central Pharmacy is seeking a Pharmacy Specialist who will lead and advance specialty practice. This role requires independent leadership, developing and implementing improved systems, and directing activities within the specialty area.

The ideal candidate holds a PharmD, completes residency or equivalent hospital experience, and demonstrates strong communication, teaching, and research credentials; leadership and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Must hold a degree from an accredited college of pharmacy and complete residency or equivalent hospital experience.
• Minimum 3–5 years of pharmacist experience; leadership and teamwork abilities required.
• Must meet practice standards for Level II pharmacist and serve as institutional authority.
• Strong communication and research/publication record preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead pharmacy activities in the specialty area and implement new systems or services.
• Direct activities with other departments and clinicians to resolve problems and drive change.
• Teach and mentor staff to master specialty practice skills.
• Engage in applied research to improve daily practice and contribute to knowledge base.
