Job summary

Saint Alphonsus Health System is seeking an Oncology Pharmacist to manage chemotherapy and oncology medications, collaborating with oncologists and nurses to optimize therapy and educate patients.

The role requires a PharmD or BS in Pharmacy with Idaho licensure; Oregon licensure within 90 days. Minimum 3 years in a relevant setting; residency may count. Four 10-hour shifts weekly, with emphasis on safety, cost, and evidence-based care.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Pharmacy or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy required.
• Residency strongly preferred.
• Licensed as a Pharmacist in Idaho; must obtain Oregon license within 90 days.
• Minimum 3 years of pharmacy experience; residency may count.
• Board certification encouraged.
• BLS within 6 months of hire required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and participate in compounding and dispensing of chemotherapy and antineoplastics.
• Minimize drug waste and exposure to hazardous substances; manage cost and reimbursement.
• Serve as medication expert within the multidisciplinary team; direct patient care and education.
• Develop institutional guidelines and evidence-based decisions to improve patient care.
• Prescribe supportive care meds and order labs/tests via oncology collaborative practice.
• Mentor and serve as a clinical resource for staff and residents.
