Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum three to five years of medical business office experience.

Responsibilities

• Ensures all insurance, demographic, and eligibility information is obtained from patients and entered accurately.
• Collects and reviews patient insurance information and completes forms, collects co-pays and deductibles.
• Verifies insurance eligibility and obtains pre-authorizations for services or referrals.
• Advises patients on insurance benefits, co-pays, and financial obligations with professionalism.
• Posts items/adjustments to accounts and balances receipts; prepares deposits as needed.
• Resolves claim delays and processes insurance/patient correspondence to expedite payment.
• Follows-up on accounts; uses collection techniques to keep accounts current.
• Sets up financial arrangements with patients and assists in accessing community resources.
