Job summary

Mount Sinai Morningside seeks an Assistant Nurse Manager for Oncology (Medicine). This RN will serve as a clinical leader, guiding daily unit operations and ensuring high quality patient care delivery.

You will model Relationship Centered Care, lead staff rounds, participate in quality and safety initiatives, and collaborate with the physician dyad to address patient concerns.

Required: BSN, NYS RN license, and a minimum of three years of clinical nursing experience; MSN preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science with a major in nursing required.
• Masters in nursing or health related field preferred.
• 3 years minimum clinical nursing experience with some Charge Nurse/supervisory experience preferred.
• Licensing and Certification Requirements: ACLS, BLS, Chemo Card preferred, OCN preferred.
• Licensed as a registered nurse with current registration in New York State.

Responsibilities

• Leads nursing practice using the tenets of the Professional Practice Model of Relationship Centered Care and the Care Delivery Model of Modified Primary Nursing.
• Demonstrates proficiency in Purposeful Hourly Rounding (PHR) and models expected behaviors.
• Ensures integration of PHR into clinical activities to enhance Relationship Centered Care.
• Assists in staff rounding on all patients by observation and feedback.
• Communicates patient experience and staff engagement to leadership and care teams.
• Collaborates with physicians and escalates concerns as appropriate.
• Participates in quality and safety initiatives and risk mitigation.
• Oversees unit operations, staffing, budgets and regulatory compliance.
• Mentors staff, supports professional development and shared governance.
