Job summary

Corewell Health Lakeland Hospital St Joseph in Michigan is seeking a Nursing Technician to perform hands-on patient care in a fast-paced setting. Responsibilities include vitals, wound care, and daily treatments, with emphasis on safety and teamwork.

The role requires 5 days of training in our simulation center and EPIC system training with Nurse Educators. Attendance is mandatory and compensated. This is a part-time, on-site position with diverse shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association required within 90 days.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Red Cross required within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Check blood sugars
• Complete patient intakes, medical history, and update electronic medical record
• Perform wound care
• Ambulate patients after surgery
• Monitor patient behaviors, safety, and changes in condition
• Partner with clinical team to provide excellent patient care
• Perform patient personal hygiene and bed bathing
• Maintain a clean, safe, and sterile patient environment
• Explain care instructions to patients and family members
• Collect and report physiological, psychological, sociocultural and spiritual needs of patients and families with RN coordination
• Provide direct patient care under RN direction and document accurately
• Articulate nursing technician role to patient and health team
• Assist in safe, quality patient care cost-effectively
• Clean patient environment/equipment and report malfunctions
• Uphold privacy and confidentiality
