Job summary

UC San Diego Health seeks a Nurse Practitioner to join the Moores Cancer Center in San Diego. The NP will assess patients receiving radiation oncology care, take medical histories, perform exams, review imaging, and coordinate with the attending physician and the multidisciplinary team.

Requires NP degree from an accredited program, California RN and NP licenses with furnishing, ACNP/AGACNP certification, BLS/CPR and ACLS, and at least one year of Oncology NP experience.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate from an accredited nurse practitioner program.
• California RN license, California NP license, and California NP Furnishing License Certification.
• Current Acute Care NP Certification (AGACNP or ACNP).
• BLS/CPR and ACLS certifications at time of hire with commitment to get ART within six months of hire date.
• A minimum of one year recent work experience as Nurse Practitioner in Oncology.
• Demonstrated ability to understand the medical as well as psychosocial needs of a patient population with cancer.
• A high level of professionalism and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent assessment skills and ability to make clinically sound decisions in a fast paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Assess and provide actions based on competence for patient care populations receiving radiation oncology services.
• Perform comprehensive health assessments, medical histories, and physical examinations.
• Review imaging, coordinate follow-up, and collaborate with the attending physician and multidisciplinary team.
