Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn is seeking a Nurse Practitioner in Medical Oncology at the Brooklyn Ambulatory Care Center. The NP will provide, coordinate, and ensure comprehensive nursing care, diagnose illnesses, and prescribe treatments within a collaborative practice agreement with a designated physician.

The role requires NYS NP licensure, a Master's in Nursing, and ANCC or equivalent certification; BLS is required.

Qualifications

• Current NYS Registered Professional Nurse and Nurse Practitioner licenses.
• Master's Degree in Nursing.
• ANCC certification or equivalent specialty certification for Nurse Practitioners.
• Basic Life Support Certification (AHA).

Responsibilities

• Adhere to Service Standards and apply them to practice.
• Monitor cost effectiveness and service performance indicators.
• Assist in research protocol development and evaluation.
• Collaborate with nursing and other disciplines on clinical studies.
• Use evidence-based literature to support practice changes.
• Coordinate patient outcomes and quality/performance improvements.
• Educate peers and health professionals as a clinical expert.
• Maintain current expertise and promote professional growth.
• Consider patient age and cultural needs in care.
• Prescribe medications, equipment, and home health services per protocol.
• Plan and organize care to meet patient needs and resource utilization.
