Job summary

The Oncology Institute is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner to join our oncology team in Palm Desert, CA. You will conduct physical exams, manage cancer-treatment side effects, and coordinate care with physicians and the healthcare team.

Responsibilities include patient interviews, documenting in EMR, developing treatment plans, and providing patient and family counseling. Hospital privileges may be required for on-call and inpatient rounds in local facilities.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in nursing or equivalent advanced practice credential.
• Current and unrestricted nursing license to practice.
• National certification required upon employment for NP role.

Responsibilities

• Performs physical examinations and treats cancer-treatment-related complications.
• Counsels patients and families and monitors progress in collaboration with the care team.
• Orders and interprets diagnostic studies; develops short- and long-range treatment plans.
• Instructs patients on preventive care and prescribed therapies; documents care in EMR.
• May require hospital privileges to assist with on-call duties and inpatient rounding across Palm Desert, Beaumont, and Hemet.
