The position is part-time (20 hours/week) at Mercy Coletta Cancer Center, with emphasis on education and support for patients and families, and potential involvement in community education and support-group activities.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate from an approved school of nursing
• Preferred Education: Bachelor of Science Nursing
• Experience: 2 years related experience
• Preferred Experience: 3 years in an oncology setting, formal patient education and community educational presentations, support-group facilitation
• Licensure: RN (Registered nurse) licensed in state of practice
• Certification: BLS (Basic Life Support) is required within 30 days of hire is required
• Preferred Certification: Certification in Oncology Nursing or Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certification

Responsibilities

• Coordinates with patients and the interdisciplinary team across the continuum of care
• Provides nursing navigation with clinical expertise in treatment and care coordination
• Collaborates with physicians, family, and support staff to optimize patient outcomes
• Supports formal patient education and community education presentations as appropriate
