An established industry player is seeking a dedicated Nurse Navigator in Oncology to provide personalized support for patients and families throughout their care journey. POSITION SUMMARY:
Nurse Navigator Oncology provides personalized support to help patients, families, and caregivers understand their care from screening to survivorship. In collaboration with the multidisciplinary team, she/he coordinates timely access to quality health and psychosocial services throughout the continuum of care.
Responsibilities:
Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing school required; Bachelor’s in nursing preferred. Active pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree required and to be obtained by 2020.
License/Certification: Current RN licensure in New Jersey and BLS/HCP certification required within 6 months of hire.
Experience: At least 5 years of oncology clinical experience required; prior case management experience preferred. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and computer skills required. Proficiency in clinical applications preferred; training will be provided within 30-60 days of hire.
Demonstrate technical competencies as per the Assessment and Evaluation Tool.
Potential exposure to hospital hazards, bloodborne pathogens, infectious diseases, hazardous substances, and risk of injury. Requires frequent walking and standing.
Reports to department leadership and may supervise incumbents as assigned.
