Advocate Sherman Hospital in Elgin is seeking a Patient Care Leader – Oncology to join the night shift on the Oncology Unit. This full‑time role features a 36‑hour work week and a commitment to compassionate, safe, patient‑centered care.

You will provide operational and clinical leadership, coordinate the schedule and resources, support evidence‑based practice, and serve as a RN role model. Requirements include accredited nursing program completion, RN license in Illinois, BSN, BLS, and 2+ years

Qualifications

Completion of an accredited nursing program.
RN license issued by the state.
BLS for Healthcare Providers.
BSN degree.
2+ years nursing experience, including leadership capacity.
Strong clinical skills.
Ability to lead in a dynamic environment.
Effective communication and teamwork.
Critical thinking and timely decision making.
Ability to assess skills of others.

Responsibilities

Provides operational and clinical leadership to the unit during assigned shift, serving as a clinical resource.
Leads provision and coordination of patient-centered, compassionate care.
Promotes accountability for evidence-based practice and performance improvement.
Anticipates and secures resources for the current and next 24 hours.
Supports scheduling and ensures timecard accuracy.
Performs the principal duties of a Registered Nurse and serves as a role model.
