Advocate Health's Sherman Hospital in Elgin is seeking a Patient Care Leader for the Clinical Decision Unit to supervise the night shift and ensure safe, patient-centered care for short‑term monitoring and timely disposition.

The role requires completion of an accredited nursing program, a state RN license, BSN, and BLS certification, with 2+ years of nursing leadership experience; strong communication and clinical skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited nursing program.
• Registered Nurse license issued by the state.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Provides operational and clinical leadership to the unit during assigned shift.
• Leads the provision and coordination of patient-centered, compassionate and wholistic care
• Promotes accountability for evidence-based practice, clinical decision-making and improvement of outcomes through enculturation of performance improvement activities.
• Anticipates and secures appropriate resources needed for own shift and next 24 hours.
• Supports creation/oversight of department schedule. Ensures modifications are accurately reflected on schedule and timecard.
• Performs the principal duties and responsibilities of the Registered Nurse and serves as a role model for professional practice.
