Applicants must be enrolled in an accredited nursing program, complete two clinical rotations (one Med/Surg), and maintain transcripts for review.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or enrolled in Early College Program with two clinical rotations.
• Enrolled in an accredited nursing program.
• Two clinical rotations completed, including Med/Surg in acute care.
• Maintain enrollment; provide transcripts and plan to Nurse Manager.
• Extern is time-limited: ADN 12 months maximum, BSN 24 months maximum.

Responsibilities

• Assist in providing patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of patient care plans.
• Respond to emergent situations according to established procedures.
• Participate in continuing education to enhance nursing skills.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient care activities.

Education
