Job summary

The Cancer & Hematology Centers are seeking a Nurse Educator to lead nursing education initiatives, promote evidence-based care, and support onboarding, competency, and continuing education for infusion nurses, nurse navigators, and nurse triage. This leadership position reports to the Senior Director of Nursing.

Qualified candidates will have an active Michigan RN license, BSN, MSN preferred, and oncology certification or progression within specified timelines, along with strong communication

Qualifications

• Active Michigan RN license and current nursing credentials.
• BSN required; MSN preferred.
• Oncology Nursing Certification (OCN) or in progress within 12 months.
• ONS Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Provider Card or acquisition within 6 months.
• MICMT Training or acquisition within 60 days.
• BLS Instructor certification within 3 months.
• Successful completion of company competency-based orientation program.

Responsibilities

• Develop, revise, implement, coordinate, and evaluate nurse onboarding, orientation, competency, and continuing education programs.
• Assist in developing and revising policy/procedure, clinical protocols, staff and patient education materials.
• Partner with interdisciplinary teams to create in-services for new or revised protocols, procedures, equipment, and regulatory requirements.
• Assist with clinical information systems training as needed.
• Collaborate with nursing leadership to address clinical outcomes, quality, safety, and patient experience deficits.
• Maintain presence across locations and engage nurse teams regularly.
• Lead or participate in committees and professional practice initiatives.
• Maintain specialty expertise through memberships, meetings, and workshops.
• Support specialty certification preparation such as Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation certifications.
