Job summary

CHI St Vincent, part of CommonSpirit Health, seeks an Oncology Medical Nurse to support patients through a difficult journey. You will administer chemotherapy, plan care, and collaborate with a surgical and nursing team to meet emotional and informational needs.

Qualifications

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Oncology Medical Nurse at CHI St Vincent, you’ll help our patients during a very difficult time in their life. For patients who have cancer or the potential threat, their oncology nurse will be one of the most important people in their journey. They’re with them during one of the most difficult and vulnerable moments of their life. They also treat patients with medical needs who don’t require surgery. Our talented Oncology Medical RN’s have two solid traits: knowledge and passion.

You’ll build trust with patients and families by anticipating patient needs, observing them closely, and listening carefully. Your success in this role comes from working well with the surgical and nursing team to communicate details while paying close attention to the emotional and informational needs of the patient. You do not need previous experience in an orthopedic unit to be successful in this role, but enthusiasm to help others is mandatory. We’ll teach you everything you need to know, which makes this a perfect starting point to launch your nursing career.

• Administer chemotherapy and biotherapy to patients (we can offer training/certification for this)
• Create, plan, and implement patient’s care plan and adjust accordingly
• Assess and coordinate the patient's discharge planning needs
• Admit, treat, and discharge medical patients

We are offering a sign on bonus up to $25,000 t o hires who meet the eligibility requirements. We also offer additional pay for participation in our clinical ladder as well as referral bonuses, excellent benefits, and relocation assistance.

Job Requirements

• Unencumbered license to practice as an RN in the State of Arkansas

• 6 months of acute care experience is required (new graduates or nurses who have never worked in an acute care setting are hired through our residency training program)
• Previous oncology/chemo experience is preferred, but not required
• BLS through the American Heart Association is required
