Job description

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Radiation Oncology Physician to provide locum tenens coverage in Galesburg, IL. This position offers a Monday through Friday schedule, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with no on-call, holiday, or weekend responsibilities. This opportunity provides a focused work environment with an excellent work-life balance.

As a Locums Radiation Oncology Physician, you will be responsible for a range of critical duties, including conducting patient evaluations, simulations, and dosimetry treatment planning. You will prescribe radiation therapy and ensure the accurate delivery of treatments by checking daily images to verify alignment. Weekly assessments for patients undergoing treatment and post-treatment follow-up care will also be part of your role. Additionally, you will oversee compliance during procedures such as stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS), manage external beam treatments, conduct on-treatment visits (OTVs), and provide occasional consultations and follow-ups.

The position involves overseeing approximately 25-30 patients under treatment daily across two clinic locations. The patient population will require procedures such as external beam treatments, OTVs, and follow-ups.

Qualifications:

• MD or DO degree with Board Certification in Radiation Oncology.
• Active and unrestricted Illinois medical license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Controlled Substance Registration (CSR).
• Previous experience in managing external beam treatments and supervising radiation oncology procedures.
• Must have availability from March 21-28.
