Job summary

BHMG Oncology Corbin, KY is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide direct patient care in an outpatient clinic. You will obtain vital signs, reconcile medications, collect patient history and facilitate patient flow.

Responsibilities include managing the EPIC EMR, scheduling appointments, processing medication requests, handling prior authorizations, and coordinating tests and procedures. Upon clinical competency, you may perform EKGs, lab tests, injections or phlebotomy; on-site presence is

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 1+ year of experience as a Medical Assistant in a medical office or clinic.
• Direct hands-on patient care experience (vital signs, patient history, medications).
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant training program with hands-on patient exposure.
• All MA hires will undergo clinical competency assessment and MA orientation.
• Basic computer skills; EMR experience a plus.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) from AHA within 90 days of hire.
• BAT and DOT certifications required within 90 days for Occupational Medicine MA.

Responsibilities

• Obtain vital signs and document patient history.
• Reconcile medications and process medication requests.
• Support patient flow and scheduling in outpatient clinic.
• Manage the EPIC EMR system and related documentation.
• Coordinate tests and procedures; handle prior authorizations.
• May perform EKGs, laboratory tests, injections or phlebotomy after competency.
