Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• 1-2 sentence about MA credential preferred.
• 0–5 years as medical assistant or nursing assistant.
• Phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Current BCLS certification required.
• Certified Medical Assistant preferred.
• Some state regulations may require specific MA certifications.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to and from exam rooms and physician offices.
• Record vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and medication changes.
• Obtain necessary patient records before treatment.
• Prepare and stock exam/treatment rooms and order supplies.
• Assist physicians with exams and procedures as needed.
• May enter orders under a provider’s direction and supervision.
• Maintain exam room disinfection protocols and patient safety.
• Respond to patient calls and perform basic administrative duties.
