Job summary

Cancer Care Northwest in Spokane is seeking a Medical Assistant to support providers and clinicians, assist with patient care, and aid public health screening activities. You will promote efficient patient flow, perform clerical tasks, and support care coordination with accurate documentation.

The role requires CPR certification, MA training, and prior hospital/clinic experience; health safety protocols and vaccine administration training may be included.

Qualifications

  • WA: High School Diploma or GED, graduate from an accredited MA program, CPR certification.
  • ID: High School Diploma or GED, graduate of nationally accredited MA program, CPR certification.
  • Minimum five years’ experience as medical or nursing assistant in hospital or clinic.
  • Phlebotomy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Escorts patients to and from exam rooms and provider offices as appropriate.
  • Records patient data prior to visits including vitals, height, weight, allergies, and meds.
  • Obtains necessary patient records and confirms consent prior to treatment.
  • Prepares and stocks exam/treatment rooms and orders supplies.
  • Assists providers with exams and procedures as requested.
  • Performs patient education activities and distributes education literature.
  • Obtains blood specimens as needed and in accordance with OSHA standards.
  • Documents all elements of care and communicates with attending provider.
  • Maintains PPE and hygiene standards; adheres to CCNW policies.

Education

High School Diploma or GED
Graduate of Medical Assisting program
CPR certification
DOH MA Certification / Registered credentials or Nursing Assistant Certification
