Job summary

Ironwood Cancer & Research Centers is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant in Mesa, AZ to support a busy oncology team. The role focuses on rooming patients, recording vitals, managing charts, and coordinating tests and referrals in a state-of-the-art clinical setting.

The ideal candidate has CMA/RMA certification or the ability to obtain within 90 days, 1–2 years MA experience, and strong EMR/computer skills. A compassionate, team-oriented attitude and excellent customer service are essential.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) or obtain within 90 days.
• 1–2 years of MA experience in a fast-paced setting.
• Strong communication, organizational and customer service skills.
• EMR experience and computer proficiency a plus.
• Compassionate, team-oriented and adaptable personality.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and sanitize exam rooms before and between patients
• Room patients and record vital signs and assessments
• Manage patient charts and electronic medical records (EMR)
• Handle phone calls, referrals, and patient result notifications
• Set up orders for transfusions, hospital admissions, phlebotomy, and more
• Monitor prescription folders and assist with drug replacement programs
• Coordinate special testing and physician requests
