Job summary

Banner Health in Tucson, AZ is hiring a Medical Assistant to support the C/P-OG Hemonc-Clinic in the daily flow of care. You will room patients, take vitals, assist with exams and injections, and handle administrative duties to keep the clinic running smoothly.

The role requires completion of an approved medical assistant program and active certification with BLS. You will work Monday–Friday, 7:30am–5pm, with occasional floating to other units to support staffing needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; completion of an approved medical assistant program.
• Active Medical Assistant Certification and BLS CPR.
• Strong computer, organizational, and communication skills; ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for exams by taking vital signs and documenting symptoms.
• Assist with exams and minor in-office procedures; perform phlebotomy, EKGs, and related tasks.
• Coordinate pre-certifications, referrals, authorizations, and scheduling; communicate results to patients.
• Provide clerical support and ensure complete medical records and billing documentation.
• Maintain clean, functional exam rooms and equipment; follow sterilization and safety guidelines.
• Order supplies, track medications, and manage recalls as directed.
• Foster effective communication with patients and team members to support care.
• Complete onboarding/orientation activities and training as required.
• Work under supervision of providers, coordinating with multiple departments.
