Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Completion of an approved medical assistant training program.
• Active Medical Assistant Certification.
• BLS certification.
• Strong computer skills and EMR proficiency.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a clinical setting.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patient for exam by taking and recording vital signs and documenting chief complaint.
• Assist providers with exams and minor in-office procedures.
• Coordinate patient care including referrals, authorizations, prescriptions and scheduling; communicate test results.
• Provide clerical support: medical records, labs, x-rays, billing information.
• Maintain clean, functional exam rooms and follow sterilization guidelines.
• Order supplies and manage medications as directed.
• Develop and maintain effective communication with patients, families and staff.
• Complete onboarding/orientation activities and participate in simulation training as needed.
• Under direct supervision, interact with clinicians and other staff to deliver patient care and support.
