Job summary

Memorial Hermann Health System in the Texas Medical Center is seeking an experienced RN for the Medical/Surgical Oncology Unit. The role involves caring for leukemia, lymphoma, and solid tumor patients, including chemotherapy administration and telemetry monitoring in a Level I Trauma Center and teaching environment with UTHealth Medical School.

Qualifications

• RN licensure in the State of Texas.
• BSN preferred; or currently enrolled in a BSN program.
• BLS certification required; ONCC/ONS preferred.
• 3 years Med-Surg experience preferred.
• 1.5 years Medical Oncology preferred; Med-Oncology cert preferred.

Responsibilities

• Delivers safe and appropriate nursing care to patients in Med-Surg Oncology.
• Performs nursing assessments, assists with exams and treatments, maintains records.
• Coordinates care with interdisciplinary team and discharge planning.
• Provides patient education and monitors telemetry as needed.
• Supports Magnet status and ongoing quality improvement efforts.
