Job summary

Memorial Hermann Health System in Houston, TX, seeks an experienced RN for Medical Surgical Oncology in a Level I Trauma Center and Magnet Recognized teaching hospital affiliated with UTHealth Medical School. You will provide professional nursing care on the Oncology unit, with emphasis on safety and patient-centered care.

The role requires BSN or enrollment in BSN, BLS, and 1.5–3 years Med-Surg/Oncology experience; certification may be preferred.

Qualifications

• BSN or currently enrolled in an accredited BSN program.
• BSN preferred for Magnet status.
• BLS certification required; ONS/ONCC preferred.
• 3 years of Med-Surg experience preferred.
• 1.5 years of Medical Oncology preferred.
• Med-Oncology certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Delivers safe and appropriate nursing care to patients based on age and needs.
• Coordinates nursing care with an interdisciplinary team and makes clinical decisions.
• Collaborates with the healthcare team to develop discharge and transfer plans.
• Participates in program evaluation and quality improvement.
• Adheres to regulatory standards and Memorial Hermann policies.
• Promotes professional growth and may serve as preceptor or mentor.
