Job summary

Intermountain Health seeks a Licensed Practical Nurse to join the Oncology unit in Billings, MT. The role focuses on high-quality cancer care, palliative support, and chemo administration under RN guidance.

The LPN will participate in admissions, med administration, and care planning for meds, CHF, diabetes, infections, and respiratory conditions. Shifts are rotating days and nights on 12-hour schedules; strong teamwork and mentorship are emphasized to develop med-surg skills while delivering

Qualifications

• Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in state of practice.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• BSN required within four years if RN with less than 12 months of experience.

Responsibilities

• Assists with admission and check-in process, including orienting patients and completing necessary forms.
• Prepares and administers medications within the scope of practice, and assists with activities of daily living.
• Obtains and tracks specimens for laboratory analysis, and documents patient care, interventions, updating care plans accurately.
• Communicates with supervisory RN, physicians, or licensed independent practitioners regarding patient care and changes in condition, and participates in patient education.
• Follows legal and ethical standards, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, accurate documentation, and participates in quality improvement projects and initiatives, acting as a mentor or trainer to other staff if required.
