Job summary

77 Consultants, a leading medical practice specializing in oncology services, seeks a Locum NP in Medical Oncology for an on-site assignment. You will assess, diagnose, and manage patients undergoing cancer treatment, collaborating with physicians and a multidisciplinary team to deliver compassionate, evidence-based care.

This role suits an associate-level clinician seeking meaningful experience in a busy outpatient setting.

Qualifications

• Master's of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from an accredited program.
• Current, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in the applicable state.
• Board certification as a Nurse Practitioner (AANP or ANCC).
• Oncology or hematology-oncology clinical experience preferred.
• Knowledge of chemotherapy administration, toxicity management, and oncologic emergencies.
• Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with patients and care teams.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, on-site clinical environment.
• DEA registration and current BLS/ACLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, histories, and physical examinations for oncology patients.
• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment and care plans.
• Administer and monitor chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and supportive medications under physician supervision.
• Manage treatment side effects and provide symptom management for patients.
• Order, interpret, and follow up on diagnostic tests and laboratory results.
• Collaborate with oncologists, nurses, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals.
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment options, and self-care strategies.
• Document patient encounters accurately in electronic health records.
• Ensure compliance with clinical protocols, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Support patient navigation and coordinate referrals to specialty services as needed.
