Compass Oncology in Tigard, OR is seeking a Phlebotomist/Lab Assistant to join the West Cancer Clinic team. The role focuses on specimen collection, especially venous blood draws, and includes processing specimens and supporting in-house testing under CLIA guidelines.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma and phlebotomy training; entry-level experience (0-3 years) with venipuncture and port/central line draws is preferred.

Competenze

• Position is entry level and requires 0-3 years of experience.
• Experience in venous blood draws required; experience collecting from central lines and/or ports preferred.

Mansioni

• Performs phlebotomy and collects appropriate specimens from patients as ordered.
• Maintains proper documentation as described by the QA program.
• Maintains adequate inventory of supplies and ensures viability for patient collection.
• Sends specimens to reference laboratories for testing not performed in house.
• Processes in-house and incoming reports.
• Updates and files daily paperwork, lab logs and maintenance logs.
• Identifies and bands patients for blood product transfusion and handles properly labeled specimens.
• Operates designated laboratory equipment as directed.
• Maintains a clean work environment and restocks phlebotomy and lab area.
