Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Fitchburg, MA, is seeking an RN for Oncology Infusion on a per diem basis. The role requires Massachusetts nursing licensure and BLS—ACLS/PALS in select areas. The nurse will deliver direct patient care, coordinate discharge planning, and collaborate with the health care team.

The position offers part-time hours with a day shift and on-site responsibilities in a comprehensive infusion center. A signing bonus may be available, pending interview eligibility.

Qualifications

• Current Massachusetts Nursing licensure and registration.
• BLS is required for every RN.
• ACLS is required in select areas (Gannett, MP1, ICU, ED, Cath Lab, Endo, IR, PACU, Float Pool).
• PALS is required in select areas (PACU, ED).
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the Nursing Process for delivery and management of patient care from Admission to Discharge.
• Performs patient assessment/reassessment per standard procedure.
• Develops and coordinates individual plan of care including discharge planning.
• Directs, supervises, coordinates and evaluates nursing care within assigned clinical setting.
• Delegates appropriately to others per job description and competency.
• Documents patient care per standard procedure.
• Develops and coordinates Education Plan for patient/family/significant other.
• Ensures quality and continuity of care through collaboration with other health care providers.
• Administers medications, performs treatments, therapies and operates equipment as per policy.
• Assists physician with treatment and procedures and special tests as required or directed.
• Participates in and supports Nursing Governance activities.
• Maintains professional growth and participates in performance improvement initiatives.
