Job summary

MedStar Washington Hospital Center, part of MedStar Health, is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Infusion Center. The RN will perform comprehensive patient assessments, administer IV therapies including chemotherapy and biologics, monitor for reactions, educate patients and families, and collaborate with physicians and pharmacists to individualize care.

Requires ADN with 2-3 years oncology infusion experience, BLS, and chemotherapy/biotherapy certification or plan to obtain.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years oncology nursing experience required; outpatient oncology infusion experience preferred.
• Experience administering chemotherapy, immunotherapy, biologics, blood products, and supportive infusion therapies.
• Strong clinical assessment skills to monitor patient response and manage side effects; education for patients and families.

Responsibilities

• Performs comprehensive patient assessments before, during, and after infusion therapy.
• Safely administers IV medications, biologics, chemotherapy, and other infusion therapies per orders and policies.
• Monitors for infusion-related reactions and initiates appropriate interventions.
• Educates patients and families on treatment plans, side effects, and self-care.
