Job summary

Hartford HealthCare Cancer Institute is seeking an Oncology Nurse to join our multidisciplinary team in Hartford, CT. You will provide infusion therapies, patient education, and coordinated care for oncology patients in an outpatient setting.

Eligibility requires CT RN licensure, with BSN preferred and OCN a plus. BLS is required at hire. Candidates with 2+ years of oncology nursing experience are preferred and encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Current Connecticut RN License.
• BSN strongly preferred.
• OCN Preferred.
• BLS Required at time of hire.
• Two (2) years of Oncology Nursing experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Acts as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide continuity of care throughout various stages of treatment and follow-up including coordination with providers, social work, dietitians, pharmacy, navigators, laboratory, radiation therapy, genetics, and clinical research.
• Scheduling patients for treatments and triaging of patient calls.
• Manage a caseload of patients receiving infusion therapies on an outpatient basis.
• Collaborate with referring physician offices to coordinate one-time or ongoing therapies.
• Ability to multi-task efficiently while maintaining safety and quality of care.
• Participates in the implementation of clinical support programs to ensure optimal care throughout the health-care continuum.
• Engages in and aligns with the Hartford HealthCare Cancer Institute at local, regional, and system levels.
