Job summary

vTech Solution seeks an Oncology Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) to provide skilled care in a rural Colorado outpatient infusion center. The RN administers chemotherapy and infusion therapies, monitors patients, performs assessments, and educates patients on treatments and symptom management.

Qualifications

• Active Colorado RN license.
• Minimum 2 years of oncology nursing experience.

• ONS Chemotherapy/Biotherapy certification required.

Responsibilities

• Administer chemotherapy and infusion medications as ordered.
• Perform IV starts, port access, and central line care.
• Operate infusion pumps and monitor infusion therapy.
• Monitor patients for adverse reactions and changes in condition.
• Educate patients on treatments, medications, and symptom management.
• Document care within Cerner EMR.
• Coordinate care with oncology providers and interdisciplinary team.
• Assist with treatment preparation and chart review.
• Ensure lab orders, treatment verification, and insurance authorization.
• Support infusion clinic operations.

Job Summary:

The Oncology Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) provides skilled nursing care to oncology and infusion patients in an outpatient hospital-based infusion center. The RN is responsible for administering chemotherapy and infusion therapies, monitoring patient conditions, performing assessments, and educating patients on treatments and symptom management. This role requires collaboration with oncology providers and interdisciplinary team members to ensure safe, efficient, and compassionate care within the scope of a Colorado licensed RN.

Responsibilities:

• Administer chemotherapy and infusion medications as ordered.
• Perform IV starts, port access, and central line care.
• Operate infusion pumps and monitor infusion therapy.
• Monitor patients for adverse reactions and changes in condition.
• Provide patient education regarding treatments, medications, and symptom management.
• Perform patient assessments, vital signs, and treatment monitoring.
• Document all care within Cerner EMR.
• Coordinate care with oncology providers and interdisciplinary team members.
• Assist with treatment preparation and chart review.
• Ensure appropriate lab orders, treatment verification, and insurance authorization.
• Support oncology providers and infusion clinic operations.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Active Registered Nurse license in Colorado.
• Minimum 2 years of oncology nursing experience.
• Current Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) certification.
• ONS Chemotherapy/Biotherapy certification.
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience in outpatient infusion settings.
• Port and PICC line access experience.
• Experience administering chemotherapy in an oncology infusion clinic.

Special Considerations:

• Work is performed in an outpatient hospital-based infusion center serving oncology patients in a rural community.
• No weekend, holiday, or on-call requirements.
• Occasional Friday coverage may be requested as needed.

Scheduling:

• Monday through Thursday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
• 40 hours per week.
