Job summary

Trinity Health MI in Michigan is seeking a part-time Pharmacy Tech Specialist – Oncology to assist in preparing sterile chemotherapy admixtures and manage patient records and drug inventory under supervision.

The role emphasizes aseptic technique, oncologic dosing, hazardous drug handling, and collaboration with oncology nurses. Michigan license required; national certification preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Minimum 6 months of sterile compounding experience preferred.
• Current State of Michigan Pharmacy Technician License required; National certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare sterile IV and chemotherapy admixtures for oncology patients.
• Interpret and follow complex chemotherapy regimens and compounding formulas.
• Maintain knowledge of clean room equipment, USP 797/800 policies.
• Ensure correct NDC products for compounding and accurate documentation for charges.
• Maintain understanding of drug stability, Beyond-Use dating, and safe storage for oncology admixtures.
• Maintain labeling standards for chemotherapy and supportive medications.
• Handle hazardous drugs and CSTDs according to USP safety standards.
• Use PPE and engineering controls to ensure safe preparation and minimize contamination.
• Assist with oncology billing and charge capture support.
• Assist with drug ordering and inventory management; monitor par levels.
