Job summary

UC San Diego Health is seeking an experienced Physician Assistant to support Moores Cancer Center infusion services. You will provide patient care for oncology and infusion center patients, including management of toxicities and coordination with oncologists, with emphasis on evidence-based practice within a fast-paced clinic setting.

The role requires CALIFORNIAN PA licensure, NCCPA certification, and ART/BLS/CPR with ART planned within six months.

Qualifications

• ARC-PA approved Physician Assistant program graduate.
• California PA license.
• Current NCCPA certification.
• ART or BLS/CPR and ACLS certifications at hire with plan to obtain ART within 6 months.
• Two or more years of hematology/oncology infusion experience.
• Ability to perform initial history and physical exam with action plans.
• Knowledge of common diagnostic tests in a clinic setting.
• Maintain infection control and accurate medical chart documentation.
• Advanced clinical judgment for oncologic outpatient care.
• Ability to manage patients in a fast-paced setting with escalation of care.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary care.
• Strong verbal and written communication with professionalism and empathy.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care in the Infusion Center and outpatient oncology settings.
• Deliver Same-Day Cancer Services in collaboration with Attending Oncologists.
• Educate patients, families, and care teams; liaise with multidisciplinary groups.
• Support trials, BMT, chemotherapy, biologics, and immunotherapies as needed.
