Job summary

Houston Methodist is seeking an RN II to deliver professional nursing care, perform assessments, assist with exams and treatments, and maintain medical records for a diverse patient population. You will educate patients, collaborate with physicians, and coordinate care with the care team to ensure safety and quality outcomes.

This experienced role also involves leadership activities such as serving as charge nurse or preceptor, and potentially contributing to service line or hospital-wide

Qualifications

• Twelve months RN experience in a healthcare environment.
• Texas RN licensure and compact licensure requirements; obtain permanent Texas license within 60 days if establishing residency.
• BLS certification required; chemotherapy credential within 90 days.
• Preferred Magnet ANCC certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care and conduct nursing assessments for diverse patient populations.
• Assist with exams, treatments, patient education and medical records maintenance.
• Collaborate with physicians and interprofessional team to coordinate care and ensure patient safety.
• Lead unit activities, serve as charge nurse or preceptor as assigned and participate in governance initiatives.
